Meet Your Instructors

Matthew Baugh, MHA, COT, OCS, OCSR is the Academy's manager of coding and reimbursement. His management experience in ophthalmology includes overseeing compliance, internal audits, quality improvement projects, clinical operations, and optimizing reimbursement. His clinical experience includes working as an optician, scribe, technician, and ophthalmic technician supervisor. He is a contributing author to the entire line of Academy coding products. He is a recipient of the Academy's Secretariat Award.  



  

Joy Woodke, COE, OCS, OCSR 

Ms. Woodke is the Academy’s director of coding and reimbursement. Her 30+ years of experience in ophthalmology includes all aspects of practice management, accounting, coding and billing. She is the author of The Profitable Retina Practice series, the director of the Academy coding product line and provides private consultation services. Ms. Woodke is a recipient of the Academy's Secretariat and Achievement Awards.  



John Haley, MD, OCS has been in practice in Garland, Texas since 1976 and is a past president of the TOA. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been chairman of the TOA Third Party Liaison Committee for over 25 years and represents TOA on the Medicare Contractor Advisory Committee. Dr. Haley serves on the Academy CPT Committee and has been on the Academy Health Policy Committee since its inception. We are fortunate to have this physician's perspective at Codequest.

Registration Eligibility & Cancellation 
Codequest is a benefit provided to members of the Texas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and their staff. All registration will be done through the TSEPS. Please note: 

  • TSEPS members must be logged in to receive discount for self and/or staff if registering online. 
  • Non-member ophthalmologists may register themselves and/or staff at the non-member rate, or apply for membership on the same registration form to receive discounts.
  • Residents/Fellows may register only themselves, no others.
  • Optometrists employed by an ophthalmologist may attend, but no optometry-specific CEUs are offered. 

Cancellations received in writing by at least 10 business days beforehand will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be granted sooner than 10 business days before each course. Substitutions are permitted. Contact Rachael at [email protected] with registration questions.

How Do I Claim My Credit?
After the course, go to www.aao.org/codequest-credit, locate your course by city, select course link, complete the short evaluation and download your certificate. 

Directions

Codequest will be held in the lobby level auditorium in the Texas Medical Association building located at 401 W. 15th St, Austin, TX 78701. It is on 15th Street, between San Antonio St and Guadalupe St. If you are walking from the Hilton Garden Inn, it is an easy 2 block walk – enter at the corner of 15th and Guadalupe through the glass doors. If you are driving, enter the parking garage off of San Antonio St, across from the Starbucks. Come left and left again up the ramp and park anywhere; no ticket needed. Parking is free. Take the elevator down to the lobby level.
